Today's Baseball Lineup

Yesterday, BHP High School had the honor of hosting the SCFFA Region 1 Tool Identification Career Development Event and speaking Leadership Development Events. We are pleased to share that BHP FFA members qualified for state in ALL FOUR competitions they competed in.
In the Tool Identification CDE, BHP placed First in the region. Team members included Nicholas Davis, Sam Lowie, Carver Peek, Carlee Murdock, Garret Jones, Wyatt Lothridge, Kyleh Smith and Dawson Knight. Nicholas Davis was the highest scoring individual out of the 63 contestants and made a perfect 100. The Tool Identification contest challenges students to learn the proper names and uses for over 200 tools.
In Extemporaneous Public Speaking, Daniel Guest of BHP placed First in the region. The Extemporaneous Public Speaking contest involves students receiving an agricultural topic ranging from science and technology to education and advocacy and requires them to compose a four-to-six-minute speech on that topic within 30 minutes. They perform this speech in front of judges and answer follow-up questions related to their speech.
Creed Speaking is divided into two divisions: Greenhand (7th, 8th, and 9th grade) and Upper (10th grade). In Greenhand Creed Speaking, Emoni Mack of BHP placed First in the region. This is the most competitive of the speaking contests, as it has over double the participants of any other LDE. In Upper Creed Speaking, Almaz Trubachev placed Second in the region. Creed Speaking is a contest in which students memorize and recite the five-paragraph FFA Creed incorporating aptitudes of speech including vocal inflection and projection, as well as poise and professionalism. The students then answer-follow up questions related to the FFA Creed.
We are extremely proud of the hard work and practice our students put forth in preparing for these competitions. We are confident they’ll continue to demonstrate their dedication to learning and agriculture as they get ready for the State level competitions this Spring.
Thank you for your continued support of FFA and agricultural education.
